On Twitter, I found this very helpful link to an article that provided different techniques on how to teach slow-learning children. I found this article to be very insightful. It included many tactics that can easily be used in my own classroom setting. For example, the article advised teachers to not rush children. If a student is comfortable in the setting of which they are learning, they will pick up material faster and easier. Another helpful hint was to make sure to praise a slow-learning child when they do well during a lesson or on an assignment. Knowing that the teacher has confidence in them can truly enhance the child's ability to retain information. Each of these, and the many other tips, can be used in my classroom when I am a teacher. The articles I have found on Twitter regarding education have helped me learn more tools and tricks to assist my future students.
